My colleague and former business associate in Agenda 2000 Incorporated, the economic justice advocacy consulting firm I founded in the latter 1960s with binary economist Louis Kelso as Chairman, passed this call to action on with the intent to raise the consciousness of every American citizen to support the Just Third Way paradigm and efforts of finding educators willing to teach basic principles of economic justice? As you know, we share the multiple concerns and destructive nature of the current global order. The Just Third Way offers a new global model based on participatory economic democracy as an alternative to the failed, power-concentrating and unjust systems both of (1) monopoly capitalism and (2) socialism/Keynesian/big government.
The late scholar William Ferree did his dissertation on “The Act Of Social Justice” in 1942, the ideas of which were capsulized in a 1948 in the pamphlet “Introduction to Social Justice.” When he joined us in 1984 to found our Center for Economic and Social Justice we republished his pamphlet with a Foreword that connected Ferree’s brilliant analysis of how to achieve Social Justice, with the revolutionary logic and essential three principles Economic Justice developed in a best-selling book by Louis O. Kelso and the Aristotelian/Thomist scholar Mortimer J. Adler. Dr. Adler taught the philosophy of law at the University of Chicago, was the Editor-In-Chief of the Encyclopedia Brittanica III with its Syntopicon, launched the Great Books program and later became the head of the Center for Philosophical Research.

We desperately need educators to begin teaching universal values of Social Justice and Economic Justice. I agree with Norm, “As a lawyer and economist, I consider it a tragic omission to ignore parts of the truth that children should be taught from the very beginning of their search for an understanding of these essential virtues for working together to get America and all nations back of the right track to Peace, Prosperity and Freedom for all . . . from the bottom-up.”
