Democratic Capitalism – Our Time! (Demo)

On December 6, 2012, Joseph Segal writes on LiberalsCreatingProgress.com:

The root of the evil is not money, or the love of money, it is the use of the peoples money to remove love from the world. In economic justice there is Love. In social justice there is Love. Without these there is none. The power the Oligarchs and Plutocrats wield is owed to the money that we the people give them by spending our shrinking amounts of income in their corporate monopolies. Essentially we sharpen the guillotine they use to behead us, economically speaking that is!

We need to replace the morally unacceptable Vulture Capitalism we have today with  ”Democratic Capitalism” where workers share in the decision making and benefits of our increasing productivity, innovation and labor.

Worker Owned & Operated Businesses is Democratic Capitalism.

Remember the big GOP Romney campaign slogan “I built that” where they twisted the President’s words to imply entrepreneurs didn’t deserve credit when in fact the President was saying that every business depends on the infrastructure and safety provided by our taxes. Everyone in the country saw through right through them of course.  Everyone in America loves entrepreneurs and appreciates success. Well, maybe they had the right slogan if  only the wrong ideas.  When we keep our money in the businesses we build together, own together and operate together, when we keep our money in our communities then we keep our power and retake it from the Oligarchs and their monopolies! This is being done today here in the United States and to a much larger degree in the UK and other countries in the form of ESOPS ie Employee Owned and Operated Businesses.

Every community should have its own grocery store run and owned by its residents, its own department store, telecommunications, bookstores and of course community banks!  You may be old enough to remember when we took our passbooks into the local branch where the manager and tellers not only knew our names but they knew our parents and grandparents.  They made loans to help us start local businesses because they knew us, lived in and cared about our communities.  They did not cut up and sell our home loans to giant banks and lose track of our home titles while they were profiting from shady deals off of us because they WERE us!  These employee owned and operated businesses should be businesses that entrepreneurs start together, invest in and run together so we can grow our communities!  We believe in the private sector and local control of our economies. These businesses would be fully in the private sector in our communities where we hire our neighbors as Employee Owners, and when we sell more and more local and American made goods everyone benefits!  We keep the Jobs HERE, we keep the Money HERE, we keep our political power HERE!
